Accommodation in
Westbury Tasmania at The Westbury Gingerbread Cottages |
The Westbury Gingerbread
Cottages Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Westbury.
The quaint little village of Westbury, centrally located in
the Northern Tasmania, is the perfect base from which to explore
Launceston, Devonport, the Tamar wineries, Cradle Mountain, the Mole
Creek Caves, the Northwest, and, of course our local attractions.
Westbury was established in the 1820's as a garrison town, and is
the home of The White House Museum and Woodfired Bakery, Village
Green, The Westbury Maze, Pearn's world famous Steam World and many
historic buildings.
Accommodation is in 4 delightfully
individual colonial cottages dating from the 1850's, The Gingerbread
Cottage, The Old Bakehouse, The Corner Cottage and The Servant's
Quarters, decorated with period furniture and memorabilia.
We also have a 1920's Bungalow, which has accommodation for
up to 7 guests.
Our cottages all have fully equipped
kitchens, and we supply everything you need for a big breakfast. In
total, we can accommodate up to twenty guests, however each cottage
is for your exclusive use.
At the end of your day enjoy a
quiet evening in front of our cosy gas log fires, or dine out at a
local restaurant - the choice is yours. Supermarket, bottle shop and
Andie's Bakery all nearby.
Westbury is an easy 25 minute
drive from Launceston Airport, and 45 minutes from Devonport's
Spirit of Tasmania terminal.
Recommended by Lonely Planet: “These award-winning self-contained cottages are
delightful, filled with a cosy ambience, memorabilia and quirky
touches, mod cons and surrounded by fragrant gardens” – Lonely
Planet Tasmania, Edition 4, 2005.
